Renee Broadbent is the Chief Operating Officer at SoNE HEALTH. Prior to her current role, Renee served as the Chief Information Officer and Information Security Officer at SoNE, a position she has held for both hospital health systems and Managed Care Organizations (MCO). Renee is an executive-level healthcare executive with an extensive background in strategic planning, operations management, information technology, regulatory matters, digital strategy, value-based care, and data security.
Prior to joining SoNE, Renee served as Senior Manager at Wolf & Company, P.C. and as AVP of Population Health Information Technology and Strategy at UMass Memorial Health Care in Worcester, Massachusetts. While at UMass Memorial, she led the data and analytics team to help UMass Memorial Health Care achieve HIMSS Stage 7 Analytics for both inpatient and outpatient, an elite honor achieved by only 2% of the nation’s health systems.
In her tenure at SoNE, Renee has implemented a robust Medical Economics System, a state-of-the-art Security Strategy and implementation, a system-wide preferred EMR, ensuring the highest level of data security for SoNE, and established a Project Management Office. Further, she has built a robust data warehouse integrated with the medical economics system and was one of the first organizations to connect to Connie, Connecticut’s Health Information Exchange (HIE).
Renee serves on several advisory boards related to technology and other healthcare endeavors and has been an Adjunct Professor at Southern New Hampshire University. She is CHC certified (Healthcare Compliance Certified) and is an accomplished author. Renee frequently speaks at Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) events on a variety of topics, including Digital Strategy, Health Equity, and Data Security
Renee is a member-at-large for New England HIMSS, sits on the executive board, and has served as the organization’s President. She is a founding member of Bluebird Leaders, which promotes, supports, and encourages women with careers in health information technology.
