John Sunde joined SoNE HEALTH in February 2017 and serves as Chief Contracting Officer. Mr. Sunde is responsible for strategic and operational oversight of managed care contracting for SoNE HEALTH and across all Trinity Health Of New England markets.
John has had an extensive career in the healthcare field, working in administrative, operations and finance positions within payor and provider organizations. Prior to joining SoNE HEALTH he was the Vice President of Managed Care for TriHealth in Cincinnati, OH, a multi-hospital integrated health system serving more than 250,000 patients and participating in a broad range of value based initiatives locally, regionally and on a statewide basis.
For the majority of his career John has worked with more local organizations. He spent 13 years working in the Baystate Health system in Springfield, MA, initially as the Director of Managed Care and later as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Baycare Health Partners. Baycare is a 1200-member physician hospital organization that effectively and successfully helped transition the western Massachusetts market from fee for service to a value based environment.
John brings the benefits of extensive payor experience to SoNE HEALTH as well. For 10 years he worked for BlueCross BlueShield of Connecticut and was responsible for provider relations and contracting. He began his career at Mount Sinai Hospital in Hartford, CT where he held executive positions in operations and patient care services.
John received an undergraduate degree from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN, and a graduate degree in Health Care Administration from The George Washington University.
