Lisa M. Trumble is a nationally recognized healthcare executive and board leader with more than two decades of experience driving enterprise strategy, governance excellence, financial performance, and population health transformation across clinically integrated networks, physician organizations, and safety‑net health systems.
Lisa currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Southern New England Healthcare Organization (SoNE), a clinically integrated network managing $1.5 billion in total medical expense across 210,000 lives in commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and direct‑to‑employer value‑based contracts. In this role, she partners closely with the Board, holds full P\&L accountability, and leads organizational strategy, governance design, clinical integration, and external stakeholder relationships. Under her leadership, SoNE unified three ACO structures into a single enterprise governance model and generated $107 million in surplus through disciplined risk performance, while materially improving quality outcomes and cost of care for payor and employer partners.
Throughout her career, Lisa has built and scaled population health infrastructure—including care management, analytics, quality, contracting, and compliance—designed to succeed under downside risk. She is widely regarded for her ability to translate strategy into executable plans, align physicians and executives around shared accountability, and deliver measurable financial and clinical results in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
Prior to SoNE, Lisa served as Senior Vice President of Population Health Management and ACO Performance at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), a large academic safety‑net health system. As a member of the executive team reporting to the CEO and Board, she led system‑wide population health strategy and managed $450 million in risk‑based contracts, generating more than $26 million in value‑based surplus while strengthening regulatory readiness and external partnerships with state agencies and health plans. She also played a central role in CHA’s successful entry into the MassHealth ACO program.
Earlier in her career, Lisa held senior executive roles at Berkshire Health Systems and the Cambridge Health Alliance Physician Organization, where she led large‑scale physician enterprises, implemented governance and financial controls, and executed turnaround strategies that materially improved operating performance and sustainability.
Lisa is an active board member and advisor for multiple healthcare and value‑based care organizations and has served extensively on state advisory committees focused on payment reform, ACO certification, and delivery system transformation in Connecticut and Massachusetts. She is a frequent national speaker and published author on value‑based care, population health, and employer‑focused contracting.
She holds an MBA in Healthcare Management from Western New England University and a BS in Business Administration (Accounting) from North Adams State College.
