Michael McHale joined SoNE HEALTH as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in July of 2020 and recently transitioned to Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer. Michael leads SoNE’s Provider Network & Business Development, Provider Relations, Community and Strategic Partnerships, Vendor Relationships, Marketing & Communications and Legal support services.
Michael has had an extensive career in healthcare administration with expertise in healthcare delivery system development, management and stakeholder relations, with a focus on value-based payment arrangements and process improvement initiatives for both payers and provider organizations. Before joining SoNE HEALTH, Michael served as the Senior Director, ACO Network Relations and Performance for the Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) in Cambridge, MA where he was responsible for ACO Regulatory Compliance, Network Development, Payor & Vendor Relationships, and various Population Health Management activities to support value-based arrangements.
Prior to CHA, Michael was the Regional Manager of Business Operations for Geisinger Health Plan, managing the implementation and operations of Geisinger’s launch of a new market Medicare Advantage Program. Michael also spent many years with Blue Cross & Blue Shield in various capacities including leading contract negotiations for alternative based payment arrangements with physician and hospital organizations, the development of Episode of Care and Bundled Payment initiatives, and the coordination of process improvement projects across functional areas as a member of the organizational process improvement team.
Michael received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Monmouth University in New Jersey and his Master’s in Business Administration from The University of California, Irvine, California and is also a certified Black Belt in Process Improvement Redesign.
